Her most cherished role is being a mother to her three adult children and Mamò (granny) to two beloved grandchildren—her treasures at the top of the beanstalk. These days, Niamh is giving the left side of her brain a rest, indulging in some long-deferred creative pursuits, the pen and the muse now calling her back. And if you ever meet her in person, you can delight her by pronouncing her name correctly: NEE-uhv. You see, there’s no “V” in the Irish language, but it’s a sound too rich to miss.
